¡Hola, soy Paulina! I am a multidisciplinary artist exploring the intersections of sound, image and performance. This is a fancy of way of saying—I love to make noise and dance and play dress up and take pictures and tell tales!
I am from Santiago, Chile, and moved to South Carolina with my mom as a kid. Learning English as a second language made me think about the tools available for communication beyond the language we speak. This is when my interest in music and performance blossomed.

Hola y Olas! Music & Dance
I picked up the saxophone when I was 10, then did concert band, marching band, choir, ballet, drama club, science club, math society and art society. An English teacher taught us this quote from Voltaire: “All the arts are brothers; each one is a light to the others.” I ran with it and still do. I spend my free time dabbling: clowning, playing the theremin, saxophone or whatever synthesizer is in front of me, writing words, learning recipes, knitting knots, watching movies.
I stumbled upon Mi Centro while looking for volunteer opportunities and was immediately drawn by the community and its supportive learning environment. I began volunteering at Mi Casita, the preschool next door, towards the end of 2024.
It is an honor to be part of a team of such caring educators practicing inclusive, curiosity-driven, world-building pedagogy.
